For pregnant individuals and those who are new to motherhood.
We’ll explore the strengths you carry, the challenges you’re facing, and the deep identity shifts that often accompany this powerful season of life.
For those drawn to exploring their shadow side — the parts of themselves that are harder to acknowledge.
Together, we’ll use art-making as a way to uncover these hidden aspects of the self, including desires, fears, and patterns that influence your choices, relationships, and sense of self.
For those feeling worn down by work or life stress and wanting to reconnect with themselves.
In this group, we’ll use mindful art-making as a grounding practice while exploring strategies that reduce stress, ease perfectionism, and support emotional well-being.
Why join an art therapy support group?
Being a part of a community art therapy support group is a great way to get support, relax, practice self-care, deepen your healing and connect with others. It's a wonderful supplement to individual therapy or to maintain/build on therapeutic work you've already done.
Each session is centered around a theme and includes a group check-in, a mindfulness meditation, an art-making prompt, a calm and supportive space for creativity, and time for reflection, processing, and optional sharing.
How does an online art therapy support group work?
It works just as it would in person, except you use your own materials. Being online comes with its own set of benefits: You get to create in your own, comfortable space and work in whichever way you choose. You do not have to be limited by sharing physical space with others and can adjust your environment in a way that helps you feel supported and in the zone. You will also have access to a private Signal group chat, where you can choose to share photos of your artwork as disappearing messages. This allows group members to view each other’s creations during our reflection and processing at the end of each session while maintaining privacy and control over your images.
"I'm not good at art, so this group isn't for me."
My response: Art therapy isn’t about being skilled at art. It’s about noticing what arises before, during, and after the creative process, and using those insights to understand yourself more deeply. The focus is not on making something “good” or “beautiful,” but on engaging with creativity as a pathway to reflection, expression, and healing. This group is for anyone who is open to using creative, supportive, and nontraditional methods to explore their inner world—no art experience needed.
How long/often are sessions? What is the fee? Can I just join one session?
Each session is 2 hours long and will take place once a week over the span of a month (4 sessions total).
The fee for each session is a sliding scale from $35-$50 that you will pay after the session. In order to keep art therapy groups small, you will be asked to make a deposit of $140 ($35 x 4 sessions) to reserve your spot. The deposit will be given back to you after the month is over.
It is required to commit to the full 4 weeks, which also gets you the most benefit of group art therapy! Each session focuses on a different topic within the theme of the group. Additionally, a big part of the healing nature of group work is the consistency and community. There is magic in everyone showing up with their unique presence and allowing that energy to grow and change over the course of the month.
What materials do I need?
I recommend having a variety of materials on hand, such as watercolors, pastels, markers, colored pencils and charcoal. I also recommend having large newsprint paper (you can find online or art supply store) and some standard-sized mixed media paper. It is also totally fine to use computer paper and/or work in a sketchbook.
Please make sure you have a stable internet connection.
I'm interested in joining, what's next?
It would be wonderful to have you! Send me an email with the subject, "art therapy" and the group you're interested in joining. From there, we will schedule a 15-minute consultation call.

Please note: Our community art therapy support groups are welcoming, wellness-focused spaces designed to complement individual therapy, not act as a substitute. They are open to individuals with mental health conditions and provide a supportive environment for personal growth and connection. To keep the group safe and helpful for everyone, participants need to be able to participate in a way that also supports others. Those whose symptoms are currently too severe to be able to engage mindfully in a group setting will be provided with referrals for individual therapy and invited to join when they are able to participate fully.
